A necklace full of symbolism and character, this piece combines an Edwardian chain in rose rolled gold with Victorian silver and paste bird and crescent moon. The swallow bird was a popular motif used in Victorian jewellery as a symbol of enduring love, loyalty and safe homecoming. The crescent moon primarily represented femininity, female empowerment, and the cyclical ebb and flow of life, and the changes that come with this. 
The chain dates to around 1910, and is a belcher link with inserts of baubles and double paper clip links. A one of a kind piece with lots of detail!  Please note the chain may be shortened to suit on request.
