This is a single Edwardian horseshoe earring made from sterling silver. 

 

As many already know, horseshoes are symbol of good luck, apparently this reigns from when the eighth century Chaldeans thought its crescent shape represented various moon goddesses thus protecting against the curse of the evil eye.
