An original necklace made with an Edwardian rolled gold Albert chain circa 1910, with added natural gemstones to spell out the word DEAREST.

Acrostic jewellery reportedly dates back to the days of Marie Antoinette, and Napoleon Bonaparte had some very famous acrostic pieces that commemorated events. They reached the height of their popularity under the reign of Queen Victoria, who wore acrostic jewellery spelling out names or secret messages, and was a huge influence on the jewellery and fashions of her time.
